YKK Corporation has just released a short video entitled, “AUTO CAMPING” as part of its efforts to promote its corporate brand and its zippers. Directed by Naoya Yamaguchi, this video, which was released on November 6, 2017, tells the story of a family, who as Christmas approaches, visits a slightly futuristic campsite and has a wonderful night while using an automatic zipper to zip up their tent.
While playing with a special Christmas toy that her father made, the little girl in the video cannot help but nod off to sleep. Looking at her daughter sleeping soundly in a tent that the family put in a tree, her mother takes out her smartphone and presses a button in an app which automatically zips up the tent and causes it to come to life all by itself. We hope that you will enjoy this fantastical, heart-warming Christmas video!
Always taking on the challenge of creating new value added products, YKK is currently working on making automatic zippers become a reality. Such a zipper will enable users to open and close the zipper by remote control using a smartphone. YKK believes that automatic zippers will be used not only with industrial materials, but also in a diverse array of fields, including the apparel industry in the future.
In addition to this video, automatic zippers are also featured in FASTENING DAYS, a short animated film series produced by YKK from 2014 to 2017, which has garnered more than 26 million online views.
